ROADMAP
The main source of disappointment in this field is broken expectations. Someone counts on income in two weeks, doesn’t get it, decides they were lied to, and leaves. Even though they were doing fine.
Here are realistic timelines and clear checkpoints. Not «make a million in a month», but what should be ready at each stage and how to tell whether you’re stalling.
Six months of systematic work beat five years of thrashing about. Tested personally.
Month one: understand it
The goal of this stage isn’t money, it’s understanding the process. You should be able to describe in your own words what your model is made of: where the traffic or the client comes from, what gets paid for, where the money leaks out.
- One direction chosen, and it didn’t change all month.
- At least five finished actions completed inside it.
- A tracking sheet started, with actual entries in it.
- Work and personal email and phone separated — see security.
Normal income at this stage is zero. If the first money did show up, that’s luck rather than the norm, and building expectations on it is a mistake.
Months 2–3: the first money
The goal is to get through to money at least once. The amount doesn’t matter, the fact does: the mechanism works instead of existing in theory.
- A first client, a first affiliate payout or a first order — any one of them.
- You know how much time one such result takes.
- You know which step in the chain is the weakest.
Between the first and third month it gets boring. The novelty is gone, there’s almost no money, and the work is still there. What helps here isn’t motivation but routine — covered separately in the section discipline.
Months 4–6: repeatability
The goal is for the result to stop being accidental. One client is luck. Five clients in a row through the same process is already a system.
- The result repeated at least three times in roughly the same way.
- Your own sequence written out: what you do, step by step. Even if it lives in a notes app.
- One bottleneck found and removed — the thing that was eating the most time.
- The first tools appear that take the routine off your hands — see software.
This is also where the first steady income shows up. Not a salary yet, but no longer one-off money.
Months 7–12: scale
The goal is to untie income from your own hours. While you trade time for money directly, the ceiling is hard and close.
What this map deliberately leaves out
There are no specific figures here, and that is on purpose. Income depends on the direction, the market, the hours you put in and plain luck — any number named would be a lie for half the readers.
Navigate by statesrather than sums: understood the process, got through to money, repeated it, untied it from your hours. A state you’ve reached doesn’t unwind, unlike income.
If your schedule doesn’t match
It isn’t supposed to match exactly. Watch the movement, not the dates: if after three months you’re in the same place as after one, the issue isn’t speed, it’s that you aren’t moving. Then work out what exactly keeps repeating in a circle, and change that — not the direction.
If something takes six months, we’ll say so.
