Free Traffic
It’s only conditionally free: you don’t pay money, you pay in time and in volume. The main source today is short vertical video.
What makes this channel different is that it doesn’t need followers. The algorithm shows the video to people who have never heard of you, and it does that for free.
«I’ll make one beautiful thing» doesn’t work here. «I’ll make a hundred and see what landed» does.
Why this works at all
Short video platforms need to hold the viewer. So they show people not what they’re subscribed to but what is most likely to keep them watching. Followers barely matter — what matters is the reaction to the specific clip.
Which leads to something important for a beginner: an account with zero followers has roughly the same chancesas a big one. The algorithm gives every clip a small test showing and watches the reaction.
What the algorithm looks at
Volume is the main factor
Here you have to accept something unpleasant: predicting which clip will take off is impossible. People with a lot of experience get it wrong regularly — a throwaway clip pulls a million and a polished one pulls nothing.
The only strategy that works consistently is quantity. Not five perfect clips a month, but one or two a day over months. You aren’t guessing the hit, you’re buying attempts.
The first 30–50 clips almost always go into the void. That isn’t a sign it isn’t working — it’s the period in which you find your format and learn to hold attention. Most people quit at the fifteenth.
What a working clip is made of
- The first 2 seconds. The point or the hook, immediately. No «hi everyone, today we’re going to talk about».
- One idea per clip. Don’t try to fit five tips in; better to make five clips.
- Text on screen. A large share of people watch with the sound off.
- Movement. Cuts, motion, no pauses. A static talking head holds attention badly.
- A clear ending. Either a finished thought or a reason to write in the comments.
Where to send people
The most common mistake: the clips take off and there’s no money. Because the path from view to action was never built.
- One clear link in the profile. Not five options, but one next step.
- Send them to a place you own — a channel, a bot, a site. An account on a platform can vanish at any moment; a list you collected can’t.
- Don’t sell on first contact. The person came to watch a video, not to buy. Value first, offer second.

Common mistakes
- Expecting a result out of ten clips. Statistically that is nothing.
- Changing the subject every week. The algorithm never gets the chance to work out who to show you to.
- Chasing picture quality. Retention matters more than production. A clip shot on a phone regularly beats a studio one.
- Not looking at the statistics. The platform shows you which second viewers leave on. That’s the most useful information you have.
- Copying somebody else’s clip word for word. A repeat with no delivery of your own is something the algorithm dislikes.
The first fifty clips are the entry fee.
