BEGINNER MISTAKES
The mistakes below cost people money, but also months of time, which stings more. We collected the ones that come up most often, and we stood on most of them personally.
Sometimes it matters more to know what not to do than what to do. This page is about exactly that.
Almost nobody loses because of one big mistake. People lose because of ten small ones repeated a hundred times.
1. Studying instead of doing
The most pleasant mistake there is. Watching videos, reading breakdowns, buying courses — it feels like work but produces no result. The brain gets the sensation of progress without the risk of being wrong.
The fix: the one-action rule. For every hour of studying, at least an hour of doing. Didn’t fully understand it? Do it the way you understood it — the mistake will teach you faster.
2. Switching direction every two weeks
Didn’t work out in a month — I’ll try something else. A month later, the same again. A year later there are six started directions behind you and zero finished ones.
The problem is that in the first month no model produces money. Leaving at that point means you leave every single time right before the place where the result begins.
The fix: fix the term in advance. Three months minimum, and during that period you don’t consider alternatives at all.
3. Not counting money and time
Someone «sort of earns something», but can’t say how much they spent or how much time they put in. Six months later it turns out they were working at a loss.
Date, what you did, how many hours, how much you spent, how much you got. Five columns. It fills in inside a minute a day and after a month it shows you the truth better than any mentor.
4. Investing your last money
A classic with a bad ending. Someone takes a loan or puts in what was set aside for living, because they’re «sure». Then the first tests go negative — and they almost always go negative — and the panic starts. The worst decisions get made in panic.
The rule is simple: only money whose loss changes nothing in your life goes into tests. If you don’t have a sum like that, start with models that need no budget.
5. Copying someone else’s funnel wholesale
Someone showed how they made money on a specific scheme. A person repeats it step by step and gets zero. There are usually three reasons: the scheme has already burned out, the author had resources they didn’t mention, or the case study simply left out the losing attempts.
The fix: copy the principle, not the funnel. Understand why it worked, not just what buttons were pressed.
6. Expecting fast results
Expecting income in two weeks isn’t optimism, it’s guaranteed disappointment. It also pushes you into risky decisions: if it’s slow, I should put in more and act harder.
Check against the roadmap: a first month with no money is the norm, not a failure.
7. Ignoring account security
One password everywhere, no two-factor, the domain registered to «the guy who built the site». While there’s nothing to lose, nobody notices. The moment an asset appears, it fires.
Another common disaster is running several accounts from one browser and one address. The platform links them and bans all of them at once. How that works — in the section antidetect, and on access — in security.
8. Working without a routine
«I’m my own boss» in practice often means «I don’t work». Without an external schedule the days smear together, and by the end of the week it’s unclear what got done.
The fix: fixed hours, even just two a day, but every day at the same time. More on that — discipline.
9. Being embarrassed to show your work
«I’ll make it better and then show it.» You won’t. There will always be something left to finish. And without feedback you spend six months polishing something the market doesn’t need.
Show it early and show it raw. Unpleasant once, saves you months.
10. Believing anyone who promises a specific figure
Nobody can know how much you in particular will earn — it depends on your traffic, your market and your hours. A specific number in a promise is almost always a sign of a sale, not of expertise. A breakdown of signals like that — red flags.
Some of these traps we walked into with our own feet.
