MIRAGE

AN ANTIDETECT BROWSER OF OUR OWN BUILD

A browser profile manager for people running many accounts. Every profile is a separate isolated environment with its own cookies, its own proxy and its own fingerprint.

We wrote it because we wanted to understand what happens under the hood and stop paying monthly for a tool we use every day.

One profile — one person’s computer. And the same one on every launch.

What’s inside

Profile isolation
Every profile has its own folder on disk. Cookies, cache and storage physically never intersect — this isn’t «clearing between sessions», these are genuinely different environments.
A persistent fingerprint
A profile’s identity is derived from its permanent key. The same profile always looks like the same computer, and different profiles look like different ones.
Proxies with a real check
HTTP and SOCKS5, with username and password. The check button makes a genuine request through the proxy and shows the real IP and country, not just «connection present».
Mobile profiles
Ready-made phone models with genuine screen resolutions. They open in app mode, so a site’s mobile layout actually triggers.
Device passport
A card showing every parameter of a given profile — exactly what the site is going to see.
Cache clearing
Straight from the profile list, by a whitelist of folders. Cookies, passwords and history are never touched under any circumstances.

The key technical decision

Most programs of this kind drive the browser through the debug protocol. That’s convenient for the developer, but it is itself visible to the site — a permanently open debug session is a classic sign of automation.

We refused to do that. The fingerprint spoofing is performed by a browser extension that runs before the page’s own scripts. The browser stays an ordinary browser: there is no automation flag to mask, because natively there isn’t one.

What gets spoofed

Core count and memory size (kept consistent with each other), the system, the languages, the modern browser version headers, the screen and window size, the graphics card, image rendering, audio, font measurement, the time zone, the formatting locale, and the local address leak. Separately — background threads: without that the page would ask the hardware directly, bypassing the spoofing, and get the real answer.

The spoofing itself is disguised too: the overridden functions look built-in, and the properties are patched so that the object’s list of own fields stays empty, exactly as in a real browser.

How it’s used

The task: you work with an affiliate network and need to run five accounts in a way that stops the platform linking them together and wiping them all out at once.

1

You create a profile

You press «New profile», give it a name, pick the operating system and, if you want, a specific device model. Everything else — screen resolution, graphics card, core count, language, time zone — the program picks itself, keeping it all consistent.

Profile created
Name: Affiliate · account 1
System: Windows 11
Screen: 1920×1080 Cores: 8 Memory: 16 GB
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
Language: en-US Zone: America/New_York
2

You attach a proxy

You paste the proxy string in whatever format you’re used to and press «Check». The program makes a genuine request through that proxy and shows which IP and country the site will see — not just «connection established».

Proxy check
195.x.x.10:8000:user:pass
Response: OK IP: 195.x.x.10 Country: United States 0.8 s
3

You launch it and log in

The START button opens an ordinary Chromium window. You log into the affiliate account as usual. Cookies, cache and storage are written into that profile’s own folder and never intersect with the others.

Isolation
profile 1→own folder→own cookies→own IP
4

You check the fingerprint

The «Device passport» card shows everything the site is going to see. Open any testing service and you can confirm it: the values match the profile, and there’s no automation flag.

What the site sees
navigator.webdriver false
platform Win32
hardwareConcurrency 8
WebGL renderer NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
canvas hash a7f3…c21 (stable between launches)
5

You clone it for the other accounts

You create four more profiles — each with its own set of parameters and its own proxy. The same profile always looks the same; different profiles look different. Which is exactly the point.

Five profiles
5profiles
0identical fingerprints
0shared cookies
6

You keep it tidy

The list shows which profiles are running and how long they have been up. It also shows the size of each profile and a cache-clearing button — cookies and logins stay untouched.

Profile list
Affiliate · account 1 running 00:42 cache 180 MB
Affiliate · account 2 stopped cache 96 MB
Affiliate · account 3 stopped cache 12 MB

Where it gets used most: multi-accounting in affiliate networks and social media, working with ad accounts, checking mobile layouts, and keeping working environments separate between projects.

How it’s delivered

A standalone Windows application with its own window — not a tab in your system browser. It installs locally, and all profiles and cookies stay on your disk and are sent nowhere. Light and dark themes included.
